SUNSHINE COAST HIDDEN GEMS

Perfect Ceremonies

When it comes to your wedding ceremony on the Sunshine Coast you are spoiled for locations and choices. Below is a list of some of my favourites in case you are still looking for options.

If you are thinking of an outdoor wedding the Sunshine Coast has many beautiful beaches and parks. The Sunshine Coast Council website has all the information you need to choose and hire the perfect spot.

Below is a list of some spots I personally recommend:

Noosa River

Noosa River – Surrounded by beach, river, hinterland and national parks, the Noosa region offers an amazing range of activities, adventures, tours or programs in beautiful natural settings – or find somewhere to relax and soak in the surrounds.

If you love nature and the outdoors, Noosa is a perfect destination with unspoilt beaches, stunning national parks, excellent fishing, diving and so many other outdoor adventure activities.

Point Cartwright

The Lower Picnic Area takes in all the area between the river and the North Eastern beaches. This is a mixture of low scrubby bushland and open grassy areas.

There is an amenities block in the middle of this area with composting toilets. There are water taps and picnic tables, as well as scattered picnic benches for absorbing the view.

Cotton Tree

Cotton Tree – Located right next door to trendy, bustling Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, Cotton Tree is fringed by the sandy banks of the Maroochy River to the north and the white silica beaches of the blue Pacific Ocean to the west.

Surrounded by so much clean, pristine water, it’s only natural that Cotton Tree is home to an impressive range of watersport activities.

Mooloolaba Beach

Perfectly located in the heart of Queensland’s Naturally Refreshing Sunshine Coast, Mooloolaba Beach offers the perfect year-round climate, and is an ideal location for a relaxing family vacation, a quiet romantic weekend, or just a great place to escape to.

The relaxing atmosphere of the Sunshine Coast, the friendly people and the endless scenic beauty of Mooloolaba Beach make it a hugely popular destination to visit.

Twin Waters

Twin Waters – Novotel Twin Waters Resort provides the ideal setting for your special day.

The services and facilities of this fully integrated resort complex provides you with the ability to conduct all your wedding requirements in one truly unique location.

Our specialised wedding executives will be with you every step of the way providing assistance, support and recommendations to ensure your vision of your perfect day becomes reality.

Noosa Springs

There’s no mystery as to why so many couples choose Noosa Springs for their special day.

There’s just no better venue in the region. We’ll take the worry out of planning your big day, and ensure everything goes just right – from the location of the ceremony to the setting of the tables and the choice of wines. It’s the biggest day of your life.

So why take chances?

Maleny Hinterland

The delightful Sunshine Coast hinterland town of Maleny lies in picture-postcard dairy country, interspersed with rainforests.

Located high in the Blackall Range, about 30 kilometres south west of Caloundra, Maleny is renowned for its lush environs and numerous scenic spots.

If you need an excuse to get away, check out our hit list of Maleny must-dos and discover a world of spectacular natural wonders, sensational food and produce and charming places to stay.

Buderim Rainforest Park

Tucked in behind the famous ‘Harry’s Restaurant’ on Harry’s Lane at the bottom of Lindsay Road, is a brilliantly constructed boardwalk with viewing platforms overlooking the natural surroundings.

Point Arkwright (Coolum)

Point Arkwright - offers amazing views northward to Peregian and Noosa heads and on a clear day you can see Moreton Island to the South.

Along the boardwalk to the first lookout, keep an eye out for surfacing turtles, feeding ospreys and brahiminy kites. Also a fantastic spot to watch for passing whales in Winter and early Spring.

Point Perry (Coolum)

Point Perry – Point Perry is the best land-based whale watching spot on the Sunshine Coast
Whale watching is from June to October but best in October.

The look out and shelter was put together as a combined project by The Coolum Boardwalk Association and co-ordinated by the local school with input from local bird experts. Look under the shelter at the artwork produced by these talented people

Noosa Main Beach

Noosa Main Beach: One of the few beaches along Australia’s coastline that faces north.

This beach is the best option for famillies or those who are not confident in the surf, as it has gentle waves and is patrolled by surf lifesavers!

This is also the best place to take a surf lesson if you’re a beginner, as you don’t have to contend with big surf.

Moderate waves and safe for swimming all year round, Main Beach is patrolled 365 days a year and is only steps away from famous Hastings Street shopping, accommodation, restaurants and bars

Happy Valley Caloundra

The Caloundra City Council has built a walkway from the still waters of Bulcock Beach and Happy Valley round to Kings Beach, the most popular surf beach in Caloundra.

Fishing at Golden Beach is usually rewarding, with great views back to the Glass House Mountains.
